Prunus ‘Tai Haku’, famously known as the Great White Cherry, is a magnificent ornamental Japanese Flowering Cherry, supplied as an impressive XL approximately 6ft tall established tree in a substantial 7.5 litre pot. At this excellent size, it provides immediate height, structure and presence, making it a superb choice for instant gardening and creating a mature garden effect.
‘Tai Haku’ is celebrated for its spectacular spring display of exceptionally large, pure white cherry blossom. The striking single flowers are produced generously along the branches and contrast beautifully with the emerging young foliage, creating a fresh and elegant display that makes this one of the most distinctive white flowering Japanese cherries.
The young leaves emerge with attractive bronze and copper tones, gradually maturing to fresh green through summer before developing warm seasonal shades in autumn. Its spreading ornamental habit creates an impressive specimen tree with interest extending well beyond its spring flowering season.
At approximately 6ft tall when supplied, these established nursery trees provide considerably more immediate impact than smaller young trees. ‘Tai Haku’ makes a superb feature tree for lawns, borders, front gardens, cottage gardens and Japanese-inspired planting schemes.
