(Prunus ‘Shirotae’ – Ornamental, approx. 25–30ft / 7.5–9m at maturity)
In mid to late spring, the tree produces large, fragrant, pure white flowers, covering the bare branches in a striking display.
Emerging fresh green foliage adds summer interest and complements the spring blossoms.
In autumn, leaves turn warm shades of yellow and orange, providing seasonal colour.
The tree develops a broad, spreading crown with gracefully arching branches, offering structure without dominating surrounding plants.
Fully hardy and adaptable, this variety thrives in most soil types and performs best in a sunny, sheltered position. Planting directly into the ground allows it to reach its full ornamental potential.

Soak roots in water for 1–2 hours before planting
Dig a hole wide enough to allow the roots to spread naturally
Position the tree so the root flare sits at soil level
Backfill, firm gently, and water thoroughly
Stake during establishment, especially in exposed locations
Mulch around the base (keeping clear of the trunk) to retain moisture
Water regularly throughout the first growing season
